Goals from Sammie Szmodics and Liam Delap ended Town’s 8,236-day wait for a Premier League victory as the Blues beat Spurs 2-1 on manager Kieran McKenna’s first return to his old club. Szmodics’s overhead kick gave the Blues the lead in the 31st minute, then Delap added the second on 43 as Town led at half-time for the first time this season on their inaugural competitive visit to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Rodrigo Bentacur pulled a goal back on 69 but the Blues held on to claim a vital first win of the season and climb out of the relegation zone.  54
